Application Preparation
We help you complete all forms, gather your documents and prepare your Australian citizenship application with expert guidance — so it is complete and consistent when you lodge it.
What’s included
- Choosing the correct application form for your pathway.
- Step-by-step help completing every section of the application.
- A personalised document checklist based on your situation.
- Review of your documents for legibility, validity and consistency (names, dates, translations).
- Guidance on identity declarations and, where needed, certified copies and translations.
- A final completeness review before the application is lodged with the Department of Home Affairs.
Documents commonly requested
The exact list depends on your pathway and personal situation. For conferral, applicants typically provide:
- Identity — current passport, and evidence of any change of name.
- Birth — birth certificate or other evidence of date and place of birth.
- Residence — evidence relating to your residence in Australia and your visa history.
- Character — police certificates where requested.
- Photographs — passport-style photos that meet the official specifications.
- Translations — accredited English translations of documents in another language.
For citizenship by descent, the key documents are your birth certificate showing your parents and evidence of your Australian parent’s citizenship.
Common mistakes we help you avoid
- Applying before meeting the residence requirement.
- Inconsistent names or dates across documents.
- Missing translations or incorrectly certified copies.
- Undeclared absences from Australia or incomplete character information.
- Using the wrong form for your circumstances.
What happens after lodgement
Once lodged, your application is assessed by the Department of Home Affairs. Most conferral applicants are then invited to an appointment to verify their identity and sit the citizenship test or an interview. If approved, you will be invited to a citizenship ceremony, where you make the pledge and become an Australian citizen. Timeframes are set by the Government — see the official processing times.
Our service fee (99–199 AUD) is separate from the government application fee. We cannot influence the decision or the processing time of your application.
